Feel free to snoop around, kick the tires, and take my web site for a spin—it needs the exercise. I’m an indie author. My books aren’t published by one of the five mega-publishers dominating the American landscape. There are advantages to being independent. I write whatever piques my interest. Big publishers force authors to publish a series. That is what generates profit.
Since I enjoy a good laugh, many of my novels are humorous. Humor is the hardest genre to write and even more difficult to sell. That doesn’t deter courageous indie writers. My humorous novels have been well received. I have been awarded regional and international honors.
I do write serious historical and contemporary novels. Some of them are tear jerkers, but real life often has us shedding tears. The Chogan Native American Series follows the lives of an Ojibway family one hundred years before Columbus. I wrote the series for middle-grade boys, but I sell more Chogan books to adults for adults than I do to middle-grade students.
If you read the “About” you will discover I am retired and write for pleasure. I have no desire for fame and fortune. My goal is to break even. That requires giving away two books for each book I sell. I may regret this, but if anyone finds a book they might like but can’t afford it, e-mail me and I will send a complimentary copy. I will never match Dolly Parton, but I can try.
Lastly, if you enjoy one of my books, please consider logging into Amazon.com and leaving some stars. Word of mouth is the best form of advertisement.
