factitious middle east nation). They finally settle on a price for a nuclear

Frozen Memories is story from the viewpoint of an Alzheimer's patient.
The frustrations of someone with early Alzheimer's dementia are well
documented. What we don't know is what goes on in the mind in
patients with advanced dementia.

overpowered by adversity. She can no longer cope and is at the mercy of

The Song of Minnehaha is the story of an old man looking back on his
childhood when he first learned the value of books. This story is longer
than the others but has a more defined plot with the traditional
beginning, middle, and end. Of the short stories I have written, I feel this
is the best. (4,674 words)
Purloined Innocence is the story of a single mom confronting a teenage
daughter after the mother finds drugs in the daughter's room. The
mother discovers she has yet to accept the death of her husband and
can no longer depend on him for help. (2,649)

Daniel Pearl is a short, short story written for
Professor Smolon's creative writing course at
Northern Michigan University. The assignment was
to write a very short story about a picture of our
choice. I chose Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped
by terrorists in Karachi, Pakistan and murdered.
